THE SEA CLOUD LUXURY SAILING SHIP CALLING AT THE RAVENNA PORT

One of the most beautiful sailing ships cruising the world has called at the port of Ravenna’s Largo Trattaroli. The “Sea Cloud”, built in 1931 in the German shipyards of Kiel, is the world’s largest private sailing boat, measuring 110 meters long, with 4 masts over 50 meters high and 29 sails of over 3.000 sqm.

The ship reached Ravenna with 53 American and Canadian cruise passengers and 60 crew members. The cruise began in Venice and will continue to Korcula, Croatia. Most cruise passengers visited the monuments of Ravenna’s historic city centre and some others visited San Marino. The Sea Cloud was looked after by the Navenna Group. In October, Sea Cloud II which is a more recent ship compared to Sea Cloud, will be calling our port three times.
